Hardware
The Pow-R-Wall Base Angle System is the galvanized steel angle that anchors the bottom of every Pow-R-Wall panel to the footing or slab below. Its job sounds simple, but the consequences reach every downstream trade: the base angle is what ensures the finished wall matches the exact dimensions specified on the engineering shop drawings.
What it does
The base angle attaches directly to the concrete footing or slab and creates a precisely aligned track that the foam panels drop into. Because the panels register against this track:
The wall base is locked to the footprint specified by the engineering
The wall plumb starts from a factory-consistent baseline (not a field-corrected one)
The corner assemblies land at the exact dimensions from wall to wall
The result is a foundation or above-grade wall that comes out square, plumb, and true — every time. The framer doesn’t have to correct for a drifted base. The drywaller doesn’t have to shim. The trim carpenter doesn’t have to scribe.
Material
Made from galvanized sheet metal for corrosion resistance across the exterior wall environment. Compatible with all common footing conditions — spread footings, thickened-edge slabs, monolithic slab-on-grade — and pre-cut to project length.
Installation
Multiple fastening methods work with the base angle:
Ram-set method (preferred) — Powder-actuated concrete nail with washer. Fast, reliable, and the standard method for most installs.
Concrete nail — For sites where powder-actuated fasteners aren’t appropriate.
Concrete screws — For retrofit or specialty applications where the base angle is being attached to cured concrete.
Installation is the first step in the Pow-R-Wall sequence — the base angle typically goes down before any foam panels arrive on-site, so the crew can drop panels into an already-aligned track.
